Flins vs Cyno

Quick-dash Electro vs. long-burst possession

TL;DR — Quick Pick

Pick Flins if…

  • For multi-wave fights where mobility is key
  • When you want shorter, more flexible rotations
  • To avoid the frustration of losing your state when switching early

Pick Cyno if…

  • For boss fights where you can stay on-field for 18 seconds
  • In Hyperbloom teams where you want a dedicated Electro trigger
  • If you have Nahida to support his long duration
Verdict

Flins is much more practical for the majority of the game's content. Cyno has a higher ceiling in perfect conditions, but Flins provides a smoother and more mobile experience.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Flins

Strengths
  • Uses several 4-Star supports which are much less contested giving you more team flexibility in endgame modes.
  • High DPS with room to grow further as more Nod-Krai supports are released.
Weaknesses
  • Ineffa is key to Flins's teams, offering major DPS causing a large difference in performance without Ineffa.
  • Most team comps only have shielding leaving Flins vulnerable to chip damage or corrosion.

Cyno

Strengths
  • Extremely high damage ceiling within his extended Burst window via Spread reactions
  • Self-contained Electro Infusion — no external infusion support needed
  • Long 18-second Burst window allows extended on-field carry time
Weaknesses
  • Massive Energy requirements (80 cost) demand heavy ER investment or a battery
  • Almost no contribution outside his Burst window — dead weight between rotations
  • Long on-field requirement locks out other DPS units for the full Burst duration

Shared Team Members

With Flins

Nahida provides the consistent Dendro application and EM buff that Flins needs to trigger powerful Aggravate reactions. Her Skill also marks enemies, ensuring that Flins's fast attacks always result in high-damage Dendro-related procs.

With Cyno

Nahida is Cyno's best partner, as her long-duration Dendro application matches the extended uptime of Cyno's Burst. Her EM sharing is crucial for Cyno's damage scaling, which benefits immensely from the Quicken aura she maintains.
