Playstyle

Inaros commands the fearsome desert. Built around Desiccation, Sandstorm, Scarab Shell.

Passive

When Inaros takes lethal damage, he entombs himself in a sarcophagus and incarnates as sand to attack enemies, draining their lifeforce to revive himself.

When to Pick

  • You want a support / healer toolkit and Inaros’s fantasy matches the mission.
  • Your squad is missing what Inaros brings — especially Desiccation.
  • You already own the mods / archon shards that make Inaros’s scaling comfortable on Steel Path.

Kit Overview

  • Desiccation (Ability 1): Blast enemies with a wave of cursed sand that blinds them and steals their health.
  • Sandstorm (Ability 2): Become a sandstorm.
  • Scarab Shell (Ability 3): Activate to form Armor by draining Inaros' Health.
  • Scarab Swarm (Ability 4): Summon a Scarab Swarm to attack enemies with guaranteed Corrosive Status.

Abilities & Augments

  • 1
    Desiccation

    Energy 25

Blast enemies with a wave of cursed sand that blinds them and steals their health.

  • 2
    Sandstorm

    Energy 25

Become a sandstorm. Inaros devours enemies pulled into his whirlwind, healing himself.

  • 3
    Scarab Shell

    Energy 25

Activate to form Armor by draining Inaros' Health. Activate again to stop the formation early. The protective layer reduces incoming Damage and absorbs Status Effects.

  • 4
    Scarab Swarm

    Energy 25

Summon a Scarab Swarm to attack enemies with guaranteed Corrosive Status. Damage scales with Inaros' Health. Enemies killed while immersed in the swarm summon a Swarm Kavat that fights alongside Inaros and guides the scarabs to other enemies.

Ability Priority

  1. 1
    Desiccation

Blast enemies with a wave of cursed sand that blinds them and steals their health.

  2. 2
    Sandstorm

    Become a sandstorm.

  3. 3
    Scarab Shell

Activate to form Armor by draining Inaros' Health.

  4. 4
    Scarab Swarm

Summon a Scarab Swarm to attack enemies with guaranteed Corrosive Status.

Helminth / Subsume

  • Desiccation is often the Helminth sacrifice if your build never needs Ability 1 and you’d rather import a strip, buff, or survival tool.
  • Keep Sandstorm and later abilities when they define Inaros’s identity.
  • Never subsume the ability that enables the rest of the kit’s energy or survival loop.

Mod Scaling

Strength

Raises damage and effect potency across Inaros’s Strength-scaling abilities.

Duration

Extends channeled / timed effects — often comfort on Inaros if the kit leans on buffs or zones.

Range

Helps radius / targeting tools. Dump it if Inaros is mostly self-buff or exalted weapons.

Efficiency

Keeps ability uptime comfortable, especially on longer Steel Path missions.

Priority

Match the priority to your main ability — Strength or Duration first for most kits, then Efficiency, then Range.

Mission Usefulness

Mission / ContextRatingWhy
Steel Path Survival / Defense / DisruptionStrongNot the densest clearer, but Inaros plus Sandstorm is enough for most Steel Path pubs. Become a sandstorm. Inaros commands the fearsome desert.
Mobile Defense / ExcavationExcellentOn Mobile Defense, Inaros’s Desiccation means fewer downed cryopods and less babysitting. Blast enemies with a wave of cursed sand that blinds them and steals their health. Inaros commands the fearsome desert.
Exterminate / Capture Speed RunsSituationalUsable on speed runs, but Inaros’s support / healer kit usually wants longer objectives than a 3-minute Exterminate. Blast enemies with a wave of cursed sand that blinds them and steals their health. Inaros commands the fearsome desert.
Spy / Rescue / NightmareSituationalOnly if you already know the vaults — Inaros is not a Spy specialist and Desiccation won’t save a loud play. Blast enemies with a wave of cursed sand that blinds them and steals their health.
Open World / BountiesStrongStrong on packed bounty camps; Inaros still leans on Operator / Archwing for the empty travel stretches while Desiccation handles fights. Blast enemies with a wave of cursed sand that blinds them and steals their health. Inaros commands the fearsome desert.
Long-Range Gunplay / Eidolon-Style ContentWeakInaros wants pack clear or finishers, not pure long-range; Desiccation won’t save an Eidolon-style loadout. Blast enemies with a wave of cursed sand that blinds them and steals their health. Inaros commands the fearsome desert.
