Alhaitham vs Nefer

The pinnacle of Dendro melee vs. the future of Dendro Catalyst DPS

TL;DR — Quick Pick

Pick Alhaitham if…

  • To maximize DPS through precise mirror management
  • In pure Spread teams where every hit counts
  • When you need a character that can carry with 4-star weapons like Iron Sting

Pick Nefer if…

  • When you need a Dendro carry that doesn't rely on melee positioning
  • In teams looking to exploit new Nod-Krai artifact sets
  • If you find Alhaitham's rotation too punishing to execute
Verdict

Alhaitham is the stronger carry for those who can master his mirrors. Nefer offers a more accessible and flexible Catalyst-based alternative that fits better in teams requiring constant Dendro uptime without the strict timing.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Alhaitham

Strengths
  • Powerful On-field DPS and strong Dendro enabler for Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon teams.
  • Dendro infusion can not be overridden by other elemental infusions.
Weaknesses
  • Has specific rotations that can be hard to get used to and master.
  • No interruption resistances.

Nefer

Strengths
  • Extremely powerful Main DPS, focusing more on personal damage as opposed to reaction damage like most Dendro characters.
  • Great future potential with room to grow further as more Nod-Krai supports are released.
  • Enables Lunar-Bloom for the party and buffs based on Elemental Mastery.
Weaknesses
  • While Lauma isn't necessarily required, she is still a large portion of Nefer's overall potential.
  • A second Nod-Krai character however is absolutely required due to the effects of Ascendant Gleam being such a huge part of Nefer's kit.
  • Most Dendro Cores generated are converted into Seeds of Deceit which cannot trigger Hyperbloom and Burgeon reactions or Nilou Bloom's cores.

Shared Team Members

With Alhaitham

Fischl is a top-tier sub-DPS for Alhaitham, providing high-frequency Electro application via Oz to maintain the Quicken aura. Her A4 passive triggers frequently during Alhaitham's mirror attacks, adding substantial single-target damage to the team.

With Nefer

Fischl provides Sethos with a steady stream of Electro particles and coordinated attacks to maximize Spread reactions. Her off-field presence allows Sethos to stay on-field and utilize his unique charged attack mechanics without losing Electro aura.
