Ganyu vs Sandrone

Long-range Frost-flake precision vs. the current meta's premier Cryo bruiser.

TL;DR — Quick Pick

Pick Ganyu if…

  • You prefer pure Bow gameplay and want consistent long-range Cryo from a sniper angle.
  • You already have Ganyu built and her Freeze teams are performing well for you.
  • You play content where repositioning matters — Ganyu's range lets her damage enemies safely across the map.

Pick Sandrone if…

  • You want the highest-ceiling Cryo DPS in the current meta — Sandrone is considered top-tier right now.
  • Your team has Shenhe: Sandrone's heavy Claymore hits and summon damage scale explosively with her Icy Quill stacks.
  • You prefer a less execution-dependent playstyle — Sandrone's automation kit delivers damage without precise aiming.
Verdict

Sandrone is the stronger pick in the current meta. Her summon-driven kit delivers higher burst damage than Ganyu in most endgame scenarios, she scales more aggressively with top-tier supports like Shenhe, and her Claymore application gives her better driver flexibility. Ganyu remains viable and comfortable to play, but if you're investing fresh, Sandrone has the higher ceiling right now.

With Ganyu

Core Freeze support. Shenhe's Icy Quill stacks are consumed by every Frost-Flake arrow Ganyu fires, amplifying each shot. The pairing is one of the strongest synergies in Cryo DPS — Shenhe was essentially designed around Ganyu's Charged Attack cadence.

With Sandrone

Arguably even better here. Sandrone's Claymore slashes and summon hits consume Icy Quill stacks rapidly on each swing, and her higher ATK scaling means Shenhe's flat Cryo DMG bonus hits a larger percentage of her total output. Currently one of the strongest two-character cores in Cryo.

With Ganyu

Excellent VV Cryo shred and EM-scaling DMG Bonus for every Frost-Flake shot. His grouping also clusters enemies under Ganyu's Celestial Shower AoE, maximising her Burst uptime.

With Sandrone

Strong but slightly less necessary than with Ganyu. Kazuha's VV Cryo shred and DMG Bonus still add meaningful output, and his grouping keeps enemies in Sandrone's summon range. A solid flex pick when Shenhe is on the other team.
