Info

  • Ash’s signature ultimate — deploys Shadow Clones onto groups of enemies to tear them down.
  • Clones can be empowered through mods, so Blade Storm is the main Strength / scaling outlet of the kit.
  • Teleport can be used to join the fight on marked or engaged targets, turning the ultimate into a dive tool.
  • Best against packs: the more valid targets in range, the more value each cast creates.

Cast Changes

  1. Turns Blade Storm into a combo battery for heavy melee / Blood Rush / Gladiator setups.
  2. Clone attacks raise the counter even if Ash isn’t personally swinging.
  3. Pairs with Drifting Contact / Body Count / Gladiator Rush for very long combo sustain.

Worth the Slot?

  1. Worth it whenever Ash’s melee is part of the clear plan (Blood Rush crit, heavy spam, Condition Overload loops).
  2. Great in missions where you mark big packs — clones farm combo while you reposition.
  3. Skip it on pure gun Ash or Helminth hosts that never swing melee; the augment does nothing for them.

Tips & Tricks

  • Clear dense missions (Survival, Defense waves, Disruption crowds) with Blade Storm; don’t waste it on single targets.
  • Smoke Screen before casting if you need a safe setup window in steel-path density.
  • After clones engage, Teleport into survivors for finishers and energy refunds.
  • Build around clone damage and cast comfort — Blade Storm is Ash’s clear button, not a panic button.

Synergies

  • Smoke ScreenBlade Storm

Mark safely; invis also discounts mark energy (misc).

  • Blade StormTeleport

Discounted / free dive onto marked enemies to mop up and refund energy.

  • Seeking ShurikenBlade Storm

Strip before clones spend True damage inefficiently on armored heavies.

  • Rising Stormmelee

Clone hits feed Blood Rush / combo multipliers while Ash stays mobile.

Mod Scaling

Strength

Primary damage stat for clone True damage and Rising Storm’s bonus combo per attack.

Duration

Base Blade Storm ignores Duration. Rising Storm’s +10s combo duration is flat and does not scale with Duration mods.

Range

Mark / engagement radius — keep enough to tag packs without babysitting every cluster.

Efficiency

Energy is spent per mark (6–12), not as a flat ultimate cost — Efficiency and invis mark discount matter more than a single cast cost.

Priority

Strength → Efficiency → Range, dump Duration for clone clear. Melee Rising Storm builds still dump Duration unless other kit pieces need it (Smoke / Teleport Rush).

Mission Use Cases

MissionHow to Use It
Survival / Disruption / DefenseThese missions spawn big groups, so Blade Storm shines. Mark packs as they stack up and let the clones clear while you reposition.
Steel PathThis is Ash’s main clear button on tough content. If clones feel slow, strip armor with Seeking Shuriken first, then mark again.
Mobile Defense / ExcavationMark the enemies around the objective, then Teleport into whatever survives. Clears the swarm without leaving the point undefended for long.
Spy / Quiet Low-Enemy TilesUsually not worth it. Smoke Screen and Teleport handle sparse rooms better, and marking empty hallways wastes energy.

Comparisons

  • VS

Vs Khora Whipclaw or Saryn spore clear — Those nuke or spread damage across a room. Blade Storm hits the enemies you mark and pairs better with Teleport finishers afterward.

  • VS

Vs clearing with only an AOE gun — Guns need less setup, but Blade Storm frees your hands for parkour and finishers. Clones cost mark energy, so they are best when many enemies are clumped.
