Playstyle

Harness the power of fire. Built around Fireball, Immolation, Fire Blast.

Passive

Receive a percentage Ability Strength for every enemy within Affinity Range affected by Heat.

When to Pick

  • You want a tank / defense toolkit and Ember’s fantasy matches the mission.
  • Your squad is missing what Ember brings — especially Fireball.
  • You already own the mods / archon shards that make Ember’s scaling comfortable on Steel Path.

Kit Overview

  • Fireball (Ability 1): Release a fiery projectile that ignites enemies on contact.
  • Immolation (Ability 2): Protect Ember with flame armor that burns stronger over time, consuming energy once its meter is at full strength.
  • Fire Blast (Ability 3): Slam the ground to create a wave of incinerating plasma that knocks back enemies and strips their armor.
  • Inferno (Ability 4): Command a flaming comet to crash down in front of Ember, engulfing enemies with a fire that can spread through their ranks.

Abilities & Augments

Ability Priority

  1. 1
    Immolation

Protect Ember with flame armor that burns stronger over time, consuming energy once its meter is at full strength.

  2. 2
    Fire Blast

Slam the ground to create a wave of incinerating plasma that knocks back enemies and strips their armor.

  3. 3
    Fireball

Release a fiery projectile that ignites enemies on contact.

  4. 4
    Inferno

Command a flaming comet to crash down in front of Ember, engulfing enemies with a fire that can spread through their ranks.

Helminth / Subsume

  • Fireball is often the Helminth sacrifice if your build never needs Ability 1 and you’d rather import a strip, buff, or survival tool.
  • Keep Immolation and later abilities when they define Ember’s identity.
  • Never subsume the ability that enables the rest of the kit’s energy or survival loop.

Mod Scaling

Strength

Raises damage and effect potency across Ember’s Strength-scaling abilities.

Duration

Extends channeled / timed effects — often comfort on Ember if the kit leans on buffs or zones.

Range

Helps radius / targeting tools. Dump it if Ember is mostly self-buff or exalted weapons.

Efficiency

Keeps ability uptime comfortable, especially on longer Steel Path missions.

Priority

Match the priority to your main ability — Strength or Duration first for most kits, then Efficiency, then Range.

Mission Usefulness

Mission / ContextRatingWhy
Steel Path Survival / Defense / DisruptionExcellentOn Steel Path density, Ember leans on Fireball to keep rooms deleting while the squad rotates. Release a fiery projectile that ignites enemies on contact. Harness the power of fire.
Mobile Defense / ExcavationExcellentCryopods and excavators are Ember’s home turf — Fireball locks or deletes the wave on the point. Release a fiery projectile that ignites enemies on contact. Harness the power of fire.
Exterminate / Capture Speed RunsSituationalUsable on speed runs, but Ember’s tank / defense kit usually wants longer objectives than a 3-minute Exterminate. Release a fiery projectile that ignites enemies on contact. Harness the power of fire.
Spy / Rescue / NightmareWeakLoud kit. Leave Spy / Rescue to invis or silence frames; Fireball doesn’t make Ember quiet. Release a fiery projectile that ignites enemies on contact. Harness the power of fire.
Open World / BountiesSituationalFine on clustered camps, but sparse open-world travel underuses Ember unless you love Fireball. Release a fiery projectile that ignites enemies on contact.
Long-Range Gunplay / Eidolon-Style ContentWeakEmber wants pack clear or finishers, not pure long-range; Fireball won’t save an Eidolon-style loadout. Release a fiery projectile that ignites enemies on contact. Harness the power of fire.
