Should You Pull?SITUATIONAL

Situational—Hook is an early Fire Destruction Burn carry. Ultimate “Boom! Here Comes the Fire!” Blast-hits the main target plus adjacent enemies. Best with Asta / Firefly. Burn synergy; outclassed by limited Fire DPS. Skip when Firefly/Himeko cover Fire damage.

Hook is a 4★ Fire Destruction Main DPS. Skill “Hey! Remember Hook?” is the primary in-combat spend. Ultimate “Boom! Here Comes the Fire!” is the payoff window for damage or team utility. This Phase 1 page covers kit text, gear targets, and pull notes—team comps stay empty until Phase 2.

Strengths

  • “Boom! Here Comes the Fire!” dumps a huge single-target Fire multiplier into one elite—boss and Apocalyptic Shadow checks are where this Ultimate earns its trace levels.
  • Skill “Hey! Remember Hook?” rolls a base-chance debuff that wants Effect Hit Rate—this is the spend that keeps the rotation honest.
  • Talent “Ha! Oil to the Flames!” refunds a meaningful chunk of Energy inside the Skill—good play literally shortens Ult cooldown.
  • Technique “Ack! Look at This Mess!” opens by hitting the pack on pull-in—use it before every MoC wave, not only in the overworld.

Weaknesses

  • If Energy or Skill Points starve “Boom! Here Comes the Fire!”, Hook spends turns on Basics and the kit’s advertised multipliers never show up on the combat log.
  • As a 4★ Destruction unit, Hook is easy to gear for early/mid game but usually loses the niche race to a modern limited option once that banner is built.
  • Spamming “Hey! Remember Hook?” every turn without watching Skill Points strands the rest of the team—Hook is often the SP sink.
  • If “Boom! Here Comes the Fire!” is still offline at the end of a MoC cycle, the build is usually Energy/ERR or rotation order—not a missing CRIT roll.
